Anting Old Street in Jiading district, Shanghai, is holding a market featuring a wide range of cultural and creative products, interesting traditional games, and delicious food.
There are many stalls along the Yansi Bridge, Yong'an Tower, and Puti Temple, showcasing cultural objects and creative products.
A university student Mu Xue came to the market with her friends dressed in hanfu, a type of traditional Chinese clothing. She said that hanfu fits the atmosphere of the ancient street and is great for photo ops.
Liu Xuefeng, a local resident who has lived on the old street his entire life, said he hadn't seen so many people on the old street in 20 years. Liu decided to take his son to the market, and the two of them had a splendid time.
The market will run from 4pm to 9pm until July 18, during which time the host will make random and sudden inspections of stalls to ensure the safety of residents and visitors.
It is said that the Anting Old Street has attracted 70 percent of its investment goal, including shops that are popular among young people, such as Starbucks, the music restaurant "Changting Jiusi", and the popular bakery "Unicorn".
