Establishment of friendly relations
In April 2001, Limerick County Council Chairman Kevin Sheahan visited the district of Jiading and expressed a desire to establish friendly exchanges. On March 27, 2002, the two sides signed the Agreement on Friendly Exchanges and Cooperation Between Jiading District of Shanghai Municipality of the People's Republic of China and Limerick County of Ireland.
