For instance, Shanghai Jujing Precision Instrument Manufacturing Co showcased its new equipment at the sci-tech fair and received a 20-percent increase in the number of potential orders compared to the previous edition of the fair.

This year's sci-tech fair also introduced the Shanghai Technology Exchange, which set up a coordination platform for technology trading in the YRD region.

The Shanghai Technology Exchange set up a "mini exchange" to provide services like results listing, organizing transactions, and transaction verification at the fair, through which more than 40 companies reached cooperation intention agreements during the three-day fair.

"The gathering of sci-tech elements is essentially the gathering of sci-tech talents. We hope that the Shanghai Technology Exchange can gather scientists, entrepreneurs, and financiers," said Xu Rong, vice-president of the Shanghai Technology Exchange.
