Jiading district held an online signing ceremony for 45 projects worth 17 billion yuan ($2.55 billion) on May 23 to boost the district's high-quality economic development.
The 45 highly creative representative projects are in sectors such as automobiles, high-end medical care, intelligent manufacturing, and the digital new economy.
According to Zhu Ruozhu, a manager at JIDU, which is a smart automobile technology company founded by Baidu and Geely Auto, the district government's efforts in developing a good business environment and elevated services are behind the significant number of projects signed.
The local government assisted the smart car technology company in resuming operations, giving JIDU further confidence in the district's future development.
Managers from the China Association of Trade in Services and real estate consultant Cushman and Wakefield, who were both named as two of Jiading district's 12 global strategic cooperation partners at the start of this year, said at the ceremony that they will continue deep cooperation with the district, as well as innovate business attraction methods and expand business attraction channels to improve the district's competitiveness in vital resources such as land, space, finance, and data, technologies, talents, and goods.
At the ceremony, the white paper on Jiading district's investment environment was also officially presented.
