Although the Shanghai Disneyland will not open to the public until early 2016, people can still enjoy an adventure with Mickey Mouse in Lujiazui this summer.
"Drawn from Life – Mickey Magical Journey", an exhibition showing the classic cartoon figures of Disney animation studios, is held at the Shanghai World Financial Center Observatory from July 11 to Sept 6.
The exhibition is composed of a Mickey Mouse show, a Steamboat Willie show and a classical Disney drawings show. Not only will the whole exhibition hall be decorated as a heaven for Mickey Mouse and his friends, but 16-meter-long and 4-meter-high Steamboat Willie, with Mickey, Minnie and the Captain on board, will also be on display.
Steamboat Willie is a 1928 American animated short film considered to be the debut of Mickey Mouse and his girlfriend Minnie. The details in the movie will vividly be recast on the "Steamboat Willie" displayed in Shanghai for the first time.
While overlooking the city from one of the best spots in the observatory, visitors will once again appreciate the skills of Disney artists to portray the key themes of human beings and daily life through animal characters to entertain and unite audiences worldwide.
