Taiwan commodity center opens in Shanghai trade zone

The China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone, in the Pudong New District of the city of Shanghai has announced a Taiwan commodity center launch, on Nov 1, for the purpose of promoting exchanges among companies on both sides of the Straits and to help build a new economic cooperation model between the mainland and Taiwan, Pudong Times has reported.
Local authorities were quoted as saying that the center will focus on Taiwan's small-to-mid-size enterprises to promote themselves and sell their products on the mainland, and to help it fulfill this mission, thanks to leaders on both sides of the Straits, it will enjoy all the preferential treatment offered by the FTZ. Its products will also undergo a half-year trial run in the Shanghai Waigaoqiao Direct Import Goods and, with help from local authorities, it will have quick access to local administrators and get support in product exhibitions and online sales.
