The city of Shanghai held a forum on its financial service chain, where it was proposed that the city wants to further open its pilot free trade zone, China Securities Journal reported on Jan 24.
In giving the opening speech at the forum, the vice-director of the Liujiazui Financial Center in Shanghai's Pudong New District, Zhang Yong, said that the free trade zone now has 30,000 newly registered enterprises, and 5,000 of them are foreign invested, and then gave three points for further reforms – meeting central government requirements, international standards, and enterprise needs.
The zone says it is expanding its cross-border investment and financing, improving its shipping registration and trade, and creating a more effective manufacturing industry.
Hosts of the forum were the Lujiazui Financial Center, National Business Daily, and China Financial Information Center.
