With Tongbo to the east, Yuping (Xueshan Mountain) to the west, Sheshan Mountain to the south and Beigan to the north, Phoenix Mountain is 51.1m above sea level. Its area is about 26.6 hectares. It got its name because it looks like a flying phoenix.

It is recorded in the Annals of Songjiang Prefecture that Huating has nine mountains. The most beautiful one is Phoenix Mountain. In the east of the mountain, there is a cliff, called Green Cliff, tens of meters high, as if cut by a knife.

In the olden times, pines and ancient rattans grew in the mountain. Since the 1950s, the mountain was enclosed for natural forestation. Now the mountain has more trees and is quiet and beautiful.
