On February 14, when Valentine’s Day coincided with the traditional Lantern Festival, Chenshan Botanical Garden in Shanghai successfully hosted a romantic Lantern Festival and Valentine’s Day party at in its exhibition greenhouse where participants, along with their families, spent a warm and romantic night.

In total, 25 families with members born since the 70s and 80s attended the party through registration via weibo and wechat.

Themed ‘Our parents’ love stories’, the event invited participants to bring their families to participate in interactive activities. For example, there was a “Contest for Tacit Understanding”, where family members used their tacit understanding of each other to guess what other members’ gestures meant; “Family Q&A”, where questions were asked to test how well the family members knew one another; and “Say Your Love”, a time for couples to share their wedding photos or family videos and for kids to share their love for their parents.

Later on, families gathered around the formal dinner tables and enjoyed romantic candlelit dinners.
