Shanxi now ranks sixth in culture industry development, according to a 2012 culture industry development index of Chinese provinces and cities compiled by Renmin University and the Culture Ministry’s culture industry department, and published at the end of December 2012, Shanxi Daily reported on Jan 6.
The index of Chinese provinces and cities is determined by industrial productivity, influence, and driving force.
Shanxi has focused more on policy support, in recent years, and on setting up special funds for culture industrial development. Now, 11 of the province’s cities have special funds for cultural development and spent a lot on key culture industry projects.
The provincial Party committee and government have increased their support for the culture industry, and are helping relevant enterprises expand their markets. In 2012, Shanxi took part in several large international expositions to promote their projects and products.
