In 2012, Shanxi province’s agricultural product exports did very well, in spite of a shrinking global market and the European crisis.
According to the customs office, there were 20 countries importing Shanxi agricultural products, including the US, Australia, and Russia, by November 2012. In recent years, the Shanxi government has made full use of their agricultural resources to develop the business and each village in the province now focuses on its own unique products.
And, thanks to a joint Shanxi Agriculture Department and Shanxi Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau effort, the quality of agricultural products has improved and their safety is guaranteed.
Dong Xide, deputy head of the provincial agriculture department, said that their agricultural production is closely supervised in accordance with international agricultural product and food safety standards and that the reputation of Shanxi agricultural products keeps growing.
