Children and their parents visiting the 3rd China-Shanxi Agricultural Products Trade Expo have their gaze fixed on Dong Jinlong, an artist who's making dough figures, and the kids are yelling, "I want a monkey king, Mom!" or "I want a Zhu Bajie, Mom!" Upon which, the artist quickly grabs some dough of different color, kneads it, and transforms it into a vivid figure.
When asked about his work, the 63-year-old Dong, who hails from the village of Xiaohuai, Shanxi province, said confidently, "You just name any figure from one of China's four greatest master pieces and I can make a copy for you."
