There was a new year's concert by the Strauss Orchestra, at the Shanxi Theater, in the city of Taiyuan, capital of Shanxi province, on Dec 31, providing local people with an extraordinary visual and audio festivity with popular offering such as the Toreador Song, Hungarian Dances, Hussar, and Voices of Spring.

The theater director introduced the orchestra as a popular, influential, group that has performed at festivals and concert halls around the world, and one resident called it an amazing performance that gave him a once-in-a-lifetime experience of the charm and magic of classic music.
The theater also had a “wishing wall” where audience members could write down their dreams, hopes, and expectations for the coming year.
The Vienna Strauss Orchestra was founded in 1988, with headquarters in Vienna, Austria and Sofia, Bulgaria. It cooperates with many renowned musicians and conductors from central Europe and the United States.
