Shanxi's First Lantern Festival will take place at the China Taiyuan Coal Transaction Center, in Taiyuan, capital of Shanxi province, Jan 28 - Feb 23, to celebrate two Chinese festivals -- Spring Festival, Jan 31 - Feb 6 and the Lantern Festival, on Feb 14.

This year's Lantern Festival will be a tradition gala with the largest scale, the best activities, and greatest cultural outpouring of any lantern festival Shanxi has ever, and it will have three parts -- a "Happy Taiyuan" International Show, "Fortunate Shanxi" Shehuo Festival, and "Passing through Dinosaur City" international dinosaur show.
There will be many large artistic performances on stage -- an opening party, New Year's gala, and Romantic Lantern Festival party, with Shanxi’s national and provincial cultural heritage on display.
This Lantern Festival is sponsored by the China Taiyuan Coal Transaction Center, and organized by the Huajing Lantern Cultural Media Co, from the city of Zigong, Sichuan province, the hometown of Chinese lanterns.
