The "Guansheng Cultural Construction Group" program has recently been added into the 2016 world cultural heritage program application list by the National Cultural Relics Bureau.
The Guansheng Cultural Construction Group is a general term for the ancient construction group and historical remains in the hometown of Guangong, a famous general of the Eastern Han Dynasty (AD25-220) and regarded by the locals as a symbol of faithfulness and brevity. It’s located in the city of Yuncheng, and consists of ancient buildings, carvings, sculptures, and painting, and also shows the traditions of sacrifice and religion there.
The application team was set up last March 2013, by Shanxi's Yuncheng municipal Party committee and the Yuncheng municipal government, with Wang Maoshe, Party secretary serving as the team leader. The team made sure it completed its goal in a timely way.
