A 100-meter-long paper-cut "Beautiful Shanxi", made by Zhang Duotang and his son, Zhang Dong, national intangible cultural heritage successors has been recognized by the CARRYING THE FLAG WORLD RECORDS organization as "the longest paper-cut of Shanxi's landscape in the world", after it took them two years to make.
The paper-cut follows a realistic design, and is framed by exquisite cloth. It presents 168 typical cultural relic spots such as the Yungang Grottoes, Famous Grand Courtyards and Hongdong pagoda tree, using the traditional Guangling paper-cut artistic method, demonstrating the profound culture of Shanxi.
CARRYING THE FLAG WORLD RECORDS is an institution specializing in acknowledging world records, based in London. It is the only institution conferring certificates on athletes who broke world records in the London Olympic Games.
