The 4th Pingyao pear flower tourism festival will kick off in Xiangyuan Town, Pingyao, Shanxi province on April 12, and last until April 20, China.com.cn reported.
A boutique tourism route will be launched during the festival, to provide tourists more opportunities for participation, including enjoying the pear blossom, Buddha Hall of Zhenguo Temple, live-action drama and Pingyao ancient city.
Tourists can also attend a variety of cultural recreation activities such as adopting pear trees, country dance performances, a microfilm competition and calligraphy and painting meetings.
Xiangyuan owns about 60,000 mu (4,000 hectares) of orchards, and is recognized as "the town of crisp pears" attracting nearly 50,000 tourists to its pear flower festival to enjoy the scenery, taste farmer's food and breathe in the fresh air.
The Pingyao pear flower tourism festival has become one of the first choices of tourists to enjoy the spring and the model for integrating leisure agriculture and rural tourism in Shanxi. Under the lead of the Pingyao county party committee and government, Xiangyuan Town is striding forward to the goal of becoming "the first pollution-free crisp pear in China".
