The 5th China Yuncheng Shun Emperor Fealty Culture Festival held an opening ceremony, on May 9, in the city of Yuncheng, Shanxi province, home of the emperor, a legendary emperor who is known as a model fealty in traditional Chinese culture.
The city of Yuncheng is considered the birthplace of fealty and began sponsoring fealty culture festivals back in 2010 to make better use of its cultural resources.
This year the festival carries on the time-tested notion of "sticking to benevolent government for 1,000 years and publicizing filial behavior around the world", with a new theme of "Love the country and the family". The festival runs to October.
