The ninth Chinese Cultural Heritage Day will choose Shanxi province as its main venue, and events themed on understanding Quwo and appreciating the Jin State (1,033-403 BCE) will take place in the Jin State Museum, Quwo, Shanxi province, on June 14, 2014.

A series of well-known plays will be presented from 8:30 am to 9 am on June 12, 2014, in the square in front of the Jin State Museum. The plays will not only enrich activities in the museum, but can also help tourists learn more about the history of the Jin State.

Chinese Cultural Heritage Day, held annually on the second Saturday of June since 2006, aims to promote protection for cultural heritage in China. This is the celebration’s ninth year. The Jin State Museum has made good preparations for the ninth Chinese Cultural Heritage Day. Tombs on display have been refurbished to their original appearance, and the cultural relics are all replicas.

Quwo, a county in the south of Shanxi province, used to be the capital of the Jin State. It has rich cultural relics, beautiful scenery and distinctive customs. Quwo has been focusing on protecting Jin culture and revealing the history of Quwo.

Chinese Cultural Heritage Day in Quwo will have great influence in raising public awareness of cultural relic protection and creating a good atmosphere of cultural relic protection throughout society.
