Since the campaign to look for Shanxi business leaders kicked off on July 20, more than 100 people have thrown their hats in the ring.
The campaign consists of five periods, according to the organizing committee’s arrangement. The committee would receive recommendations from various Shanxi merchant and industry associations, companies, experts and media from July 20 to Sept 20. The candidates should submit required materials. The materials will be reviewed first. Then the public will vote on the qualified candidates.
Those making the short list will undergo expert’s final review on Nov 1. The campaign will pick the Shanxi business leader and Shanxi merchant of the year, and deal out the Shanxi industry innovation award, cutting-edge business award, best capital operation award, annual social responsibility award and most influential chairman of Shanxi merchant association. The awards ceremony will be held in Taiyuan city.
The campaign will focus on candidate’s achievements, contribution, leadership and influence, and aim to boost reform of Shanxi entrepreneurship and companies. The candidates should: be able to continue to carry on the Shanxi merchant spirit, have innovative thinking, and play a positive role in promoting social and economic development. They should be able to help transform Chinese society, business and lifestyle, and be a prime mover in their field.
The campaign is one of the warm-up activities leading up to the second Shanxi merchant conference. The organizing committee will go across the country to find Shanxi merchant stories and decode their secrets to success. It will have the media cover merchant development and look at typical merchants at close quarters to display their development history.
