As a joint initiative of Shanxi News Network and the Shanxi Administration of Press Publication, Radio, Film and Television, the Reading Day activity that aims to promote deep reading as a habit for the public was officially launched on August 13.
By taking the official WeChat account, sxrb-com, of the Shanxi News Network as the main platform, the Reading Day will be held on the second Wednesday of every month over the duration of one year. During this period, books recommended by the Shanxi Administration of Press Publication, Radio, Film and Television will be given away through the official WeChat platform.
Meanwhile, the activity's participants can exchange and communicate through this platform and share good book reviews, as well release the book list according to the recommendations of the public. In a word, the event seeks to help the public enjoy reading.
The Reading Day's theme varies from month to month. The theme this August is school admission. The activity has prepared a book list for both the new students and their parents.
