Shanxi government held the Promotion Conference on Industrial Cooperation between Shanxi and Multinational Corporations on June 3 in Shanghai, targeting multinational corporations and the Yangtze River Delta.

Following investment promotion events in Guangzhou and Wuhan, the schedule aims to promote cooperation in high-tech, finance, modern services, high-end equipment manufacturing and information technologies by using Shanghai's advantages as a hub of multinational corporations and financial organizations.
Over 240 representatives from 188 corporations, including Wal-Mart, GE and Schneider Electric were present at the promotion conference.

Wang Yixin, vice-governor of Shanxi gave a talk on the province's achievements on industrial restructuring, ecological improvement, and image rebranding. Shanxi has been striving to push forward coal revolution while accelerating the development of seven non-coal industries, he said.
In the former two promotion conferences held in Guangzhou and Wuhan, Shanxi contracted 105 cooperation projects with investment of 165.03 billion yuan ($26.59 billion), covering fields from new energy to transportation infrastructures. The next conference, scheduled for Beijing, targets central enterprises.
