North China’s Shanxi province published two plans for the province’s eight emerging manufacturing industries, including a plan to push the industries from 2015 to 2017 and an action plan for 2015.
The eight emerging industries are equipment manufacturing, new materials, energy-saving and environmental protection, information technology, foods, medicines, light and textile industries.
The three-year plan for pushing the eight industries mapped out overall development targets, key tasks and policies.
The eight manufacturing industries will get 670 billion yuan ($108.07 billion) in total investment over three years, increasing by 10.5 percent per year. Their sales income is estimated to reach 790 billion yuan by 2017, growing 11.6 percent per year.
From 2015 to 2017, the province will push 986 major projects, with total investment estimated to be 414.4 billion yuan, said the province’s commission of economy and information technology.
Equipment manufacturing, new materials, energy saving and environmental protection are expected to grow over 10 percent annually.
The 2015 action plan is made by quantizing the three-year’s goals while considering the industries’ investment and sales volume in 2014.
According to the action plan, the province will promote 109 projects, support 40 enterprises, tackle problems of 56 innovative technologies and accelerate 40 industrial parks’ construction. It vows to complete investment of 202.2 billion yuan in 2015, 10 percent more than last year, while striving for 12 percent annual sales growth to 632.1 billion yuan.
