Shanxi Food and Drug Administration has issued guidelines for establishing safety traceability systems in food industry.
These guidelines are in accordance with the new version of the Food Safety Law, to take effect on October 1, which requires food suppliers to set up traceability systems.
The guidelines were divided into four parts, including the system’s connotation, terms analysis and practical examples, and will apply to both supervisory authorities and food suppliers in the province.
The province’s food suppliers are required to establish well-organized and effective food safety traceability systems before Oct 1, and to include these systems in their annual evaluation targets.
The guidelines prescribe dynamic administration to guarantee that food can be traced for food authorities. The construction of supervisory information platform at municipal level must make sure that information is complete and accurate.
