Disposable income per person rose markedly in both Shanxi's urban and rural areas in the first three quarters of 2015, indicating an unquestionable growth for the whole year.

The statistics showed that urban per capita disposable income increased 1,401 yuan ($212.9), or 7.9 percent from a year earlier, to 19,046 yuan in the first three quarters of 2015.

Compared to the same period last year, disposable income from wages and salary grew steadily to 12,216 yuan on average, net income from business grew to 2,353 yuan, net income from property rose to 1,337 yuan, and income from transfer increased to 3,140 yuan, which, at 16.5 percent, was the highest growth.

Rural per capita disposable income reached 6,681 yuan during the same period, up by 8.3 percent year-on-year.

The income from wages or salary accounted for over half to 3,726 yuan, an increase of 7.6 percent from a year earlier, income from business increased to 1,685 yuan, up by 10 percent, income from transfer went to 1,166 yuan, rising by 7.4 percent, and income from property increased 14.6 percent to 104 yuan, the largest growth of all.

Policies benefiting rural residents and increasing investment in agriculture help grow rural income steadily.

As rural residents' per capita disposable income grows faster than that of urban residents, the gap of per capita disposable income between urban and rural residents will continue to narrow.
