During the five-day event, 30 young Buddhist masters from 25 different Chinese regions and representatives from the Buddhist Academy of China gathered on the sacred Buddhist mountain in Shanxi province to discuss their understanding of Buddhist scriptures.

In his keynote speech during the closing ceremony, Master Zongxing, vice-president of the Buddhist Association of China, praised all the masters’ great discourse and wit throughout the event.
He singled out the seminar held on Aug 28 regarding representations and interpretation of Buddhist Manjusri in China in particular as very productive.
The seminar provided a useful preparation for the main symposium, allowing the masters to make excellent progress in further systemizing the teachings and spirit of Buddhist Manjusri along with its evolution in the country, he added.

It is the first time the event took place in Mount Wutai. Mount Wutai is known as one of the four sacred Buddhist mountains in China and the global center for Buddhist Manjusri worship.
