Experts and companies will gather at an international energy industry expo in Taiyuan, Shanxi province, from Sept 7 to 9 to share novel ideas and discuss the latest technology in the energy industry.
The expo will emphasize innovation and low carbon development based on coal utilization. There will be eight exhibition areas covering 36,000 square meters, including pavilions of new energy and electric vehicles.
The most anticipated part of the expo is expected to be the low carbon innovations demonstrated by cities across Shanxi themselves.
The Shanxi Zhongxing Environmental and Energy Technology Co in the city of Yangquan, makes nano carbon materials from gas which is created as a by-product of coal combustion. The process greatly reduces coal dust particles released into the atmosphere and in turn contributes to reducing air pollution. The nano carbons are also able to be reused in different areas such as in the communications and automotive industries.
The expo is expected to attract some 368 companies from across 20 countries and regions, including the United States and Indonesia. It's estimated that 15,000 business representatives will attend the event.
In addition, the Taiyuan Energy Low Carbon Development Forum will be held during the three-day exhibition, discussing the sustainable use of coal resources.
