The Mass Innovation and Entrepreneurship Week commenced in Taiyuan, Shanxi province on Oct 12.
Emerging individuals and groups showcasing the latest innovations and technologies will be highlighted through a series of week-long activities.
The event is themed on developing the economy through innovation and features online and offline exhibitions, and themed activities.
The public can appreciate 228 projects of startups and researchers on cxshanxi.com or Tipark in the national high-tech industrial development zones of Taiyuan.
Various platforms, companies and related policies which support mass innovation and entrepreneurship will also be displayed.
Organizers have arranged professional guides for startups through forums, entrepreneurship training and policy briefings, such as the communication conference of startups, which will take place on Oct 13.
Shanxi province has adopted a series of policies to encourage new startups and innovative ventures. The government plans to conduct business training sessions for 65,000 people by the end of this year; 59,200 people have so far received the classes.
Authorities in the province also set aside 150 million yuan ($22.34 million) to set up 17 bases for innovation and entrepreneurship, where 230 companies have settled.
There are now more than 100 provincial maker spaces and some 900 startups in Shanxi.
