Shanxi culture is expected to be further promoted, following a symposium that was held at Shanxi University on Nov 11.
The symposium was focused on a new series of books, Qin He Feng Yun (Charm of Qinhe River), which was co-produced by Shanxi University, Shanxi People’s Press and Jincheng municipal promotional department.
Named after Qinhe River, one of the major rivers running through Shanxi province, the series is made up of 31 books, featuring introductions on the history, culture, politics, economy, environment and tourism industry of Shanxi.
A collection of talented people who have majored in a wide variety of subjects including literature, archaeology, folk customs, environmental protection, education and fine arts have dedicated themselves to producing the books, ensuring high quality and readability.
Officials from local related departments, the head of Shanxi People's Press, the president of Shanxi University, along with academics and local reporters all attended the symposium.
Jia Suotang, president of Shanxi University delivered a speech during the symposium, and expressed his heartfelt congratulations.
"Qin He Feng Yun is the result of the attendants' common efforts. It opens a new window for us to study Shanxi culture," he said.
