Shanxi officials and 200 businesspeople joined in a meeting of small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) entrepreneurship bases in Yuncheng on Nov 22 to discuss how to boost SMEs in the province.
Attendees visited the local Xinghe Innovation and Entrepreneurship Base and then shared their expertise and experience of innovation and entrepreneurship. According to the meeting, Shanxi aims for 150 provincial entrepreneurship bases which will offer low-cost and convenient services to SMEs by the end of 2020.
"SMEs play an important role in innovation and entrepreneurship which can greatly boost the economy and inrease employment, and we will help this small and medium-sized group expand their businesses and give them full play in driving economic growth," said Xue Zeke, chairman of Xinghe Innovation and Entrepreneurship Base Development Co.
Xinghe, the 100th provincial SME entrepreneurship base in Shanxi, is a service platform which provides free training, offices, and opportunities to receive investment for people who want to start their own businesses. The base introduces government agencies, financial institutions and advisory organizations to facilitate the operations of SMEs.
In addition, training was arranged by Shanxi SME Bureau after the meeting to introduce techonology-themed entrepreneurship bases and offer information about government policies targeted at entrepreneurship bases.
