The lights turned green for National Traffic Safety on Dec 2, as Taiyuan in Shanxi province held events promoting safety and traffic awareness.
At the launch ceremony, local pupils were given schoolbags patterned with reflective stripes as well as books on traffic safety, and transportation companies displayed educational videos and posters on traffic security.
Taiyuan's traffic police set up a display of their equipment as well as traffic accident warnings to look out for. Residents were able to consult traffic laws and regulations in the exhibition area.
After the launch ceremony, attendees then visited Jinyangjie Primary School where classes on traffic safety were held. The traffic police taught students road regulations through performances and games.
More than 200 people, such as undergraduate traffic volunteers and traffic police, took part in the promotion.
