Focusing on seeking economic development and boosting innovation in Shanxi, a summit on the economy took place at Shanxi University of Finance & Economics (SXUFE) on Dec 3.
The event aimed to support economic transformation and innovation in the province by hosting brainstorming sessions among economic think tanks.
This year's summit was organized by SXUFE and Shanxi Department of Human Resources and Social Security, marking the first time the two sides have cooperated.
The university, which specializes in finance and economic management, will conduct more economic research, train more students in economics and offer consultations about strategies for developing Shanxi's economy.
Meanwhile, it will cooperate with the Shanxi government on the reform of economic management, such as policies in employment, entrepreneurship and vocational training.
Shanxi Economy Summit, which has been held since 2002, is a large academic forum providing a communication platform for authorities on economics and business. It has helped offer workable suggestions and measures for solving local economic problems like how to boost the private sector.
More than 400 people, including economists from domestic research institutes, as well as teachers and students of SXUFE, participated in the event.
