Pingyao has recently been selected as a national-level demonstration county for rural vocational and adult education, along with a further 58 counties, as the only eligible county in Shanxi province.
The ancient city of Pingyao is committed to fostering employment and people's skills by developing modern vocational and adult education.
There is now one occupational education center and two medium-level vocational schools, including Pingyao Modern Engineering Technical School, which is one of the key national vocational schools. More than 160 adult cultural and technical schools with 366 teachers have been established across the county.
Also, Pingyao has been promoting the training of local farmers in better management techniques.
