Guo Xinzhi, deputy director of the Shanxi Disabled Person's Federation and president of Shanxi Cerrebral Palsy Rehabilitation Hospital, is no stranger to the National People's Congress (NPC).
As an NPC deputy, she has made over 500 proposals over the past 15 years, eight of which have become national laws.
"Women, children, the elderly and the disabled are who I'm concerned about. My proposals are aimed to protect their interests," she said.
During last year's NPC meeting, Guo made over 20 proposals regarding the aging society, the two-child policy and the interests of vulnerable groups. One of her family education proposals has drawn great attention from several national departments including the All-China Women's Federation and the Ministry of Education.
This year, she has prepared a dozen of proposals, such as information disclosure during vaccinations and a national protective mechanism for families that have lost their only child.
"As a long-time NPC deputy, I enjoy the great honor and its heavy responsibility. I must fulfill my duty, care about people and speak for people."
