A conference aiming to strengthen financial cooperation between Shanxi province and Taiwan was held in Taiyuan, the capital city of Shanxi, on March 31.
Around a hundred representatives from government departments, local businesses and Shanxi-Taiwan cooperative enterprises attended the conference and exchanged ideas on the economic development of Shanxi and cooperation between the two regions.

At the conference, the Shanxi branch of the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) signed cooperation agreements with Shanxi’s Taiwan affairs office, the Shanxi Mature Vinegar Group, which is in partnership with Taiwan, and two Taiwan-funded companies — Houmawangwang Food Company and Taiyuan Jumeirui Company.
"As the largest quoted bank in the world, ICBC has established partnerships with 31 banks in Taiwan," said Lu Qin, president of ICBC's Shanxi branch. "The Shanxi branch will keep improving financial services and provide comprehensive financial support to Shanxi-Taiwan cooperative enterprises."
Huang Jinming, director of Shanxi's Taiwan affairs office, extended a warm welcome to Taiwan's businesses.
"We will insist on the central government policy and make Taiwan-funded enterprises feel at home in Shanxi," he said.
