A conference promoting investment and trade in Belarus was held in Taiyuan, Shanxi province on April 6.
Belarus is a vital economic partner of China through the national Belt and Road Initiative. The China--Belarus Industrial Park, the largest overseas industrial park whose construction China has joined in since 2014, showcases the two countries' determination and effort in building the Silk Road Economic Belt.
The meeting, organized by the Shanxi Provincial Committee of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and the organizing committee of the Astana Expo, aimed to help companies in Shanxi seek business opportunities, broadening the overseas market and facilitating communication with countries and regions along the Belt and Road.
The conference is also an extension of Shanxi Week at the Astana Expo 2017 in Kazakhstan to advance cooperation between Shanxi companies and Belarus in the energy industry.
Counselor of the Consulate General of Belarus in China introduced the trade and investment climate of Belarus. How to prevent legal risks in overseas investment and trade was also explained by experts during the meeting.
More than 130 people, including officials from the Consulate General of Belarus in China and business representatives from Shanxi, attended the conference and accompanying symposium themed around expanding the global market for Shanxi's coal machinery industry.
