Cycling enthusiasts from around the world recently flocked to Datong in Shanxi province for Datong International Cycle Classic, which took place from July 14 to 16.
An evening gala highlighting bicycle stunts marked the beginning of the three-day cycling competition which was conducted at three representative places in Datong, namely the Ancient City of Datong, Wenying Lake Ecological Park and Datong National Volcano Cluster Geological Park.
Some 2,000 athletes from 24 countries and regions, including France and Russia participated in the event, browsing historical sites and viewing scenery along the cycling tracks.
Baasankhuu Myagarsuren from Mongolia and Wu Ning from China respectively won the men's A and B group in the mountain cycling races. Tsai Ya-yu, a Taiwan resident, was crowned the champion of the women's division.
