A 13.1-meter-tall bronze statue of Guan Yu, a famous general of the late Eastern Han Dynasty (AD 25-220), stands in front of the Yuncheng North High-Speed Railway Station on July 17. Born in Yuncheng, Guan Yu is regarded as a symbol of loyalty, courage, righteousness and wealth. Yuncheng has been promoting the city’s profile and tourist attractions worldwide by selecting Guan Yu as a cultural representative of the city. Apart from the statue at the railway station, there are three other statues of Guan Yu in Yuncheng, with the tallest one reaching 80-meters high. [Photo/sxrb.com] |
