The third Shanxi Cultural Industries Fair opened in Taiyuan on Aug 24, showcasing the achievements of cultural reform in Shanxi and creating opportunities for cultural related companies to cooperate.
The event, with a theme of "cultural Shanxi and open Shanxi", consists of exhibitions, forums, shows and trade fairs. More than 340 activities which involve different sectors of the cultural industry, such as press and publication, animation, and intangible cultural heritage, have been scheduled for the five-day fair.
One of the highlights of the event is the high-tech experience activities. Visitors can get to know Shanxi culture and entertainment while taking part in various activities, such as 3D printing and VR travel.
Technology and interaction are also emphasized by the exhibitors. In the exhibition area of Taiyuan, a mini helicopter made by Taiyuan Longxiang Technology Club has attracted many visitors.
"It's a system for training pilots. When visitors sit in and control the helicopter, they will feel like they are flying," said Wang Wei, the director of the club.
The fair attracted many international exhibits, with more than 1,000 exhibitors from 23 countries including Russia and France displaying their products and services in the exhibition area measuring over 20,000 square meters.
