A total of 20 activities will be held to celebrate the 2017 Shanxi Tourism Development Conference which is set to take place from Sept 20-23 in Jinzhong city, North China's Shanxi province, according to the local tourism authority.
The activities to be held during the conference fall into three categories –– national-level activities, municipal or county-level activities, and activities to be held in various scenic spots.
There are eight national-level activities including the 2017 Tour of China Road Cycling Race, the 2017 Pingyao International Photography Exhibition, and the 2017 Camping and Motor Homes Show.
The municipal and county-level activities include a handicrafts expo, the first tourism carnival in Jinzhong, and a cultural tourism festival in Yuci district which is administered by Jinzhong.
A total of nine activities will be held in various scenic spots including a folk song activity, the first water carnival activity at Shigao Mountain, and a Shanxi wheaten food festival.
In order to promote the 2017 Shanxi Tourism Development Conference, the Association of Shanxi Tour Guides also initiated an activity involving over 10,000 tour guides across Shanxi who are encouraged to promote the province.
