A new flight linking Datong city in Shanxi province and Vietnam, a Belt and Road country, was launched on Sept 17, following the start of a charter service to Cambodia in late August.
Operated by Vietnam's Pacific Airlines, the Datong - Da Nang flight is scheduled to fly three times a week on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.
The flight leaves Datong at 21:10 (Beijing time) and arrives in Da Nang, a port city in Vietnam, at 00:30 (local time). The return flight will depart Da Nang at 14:55 (local time) for Datong, arriving at 20:10. Shanxi residents can enjoy the scenery in Da Nang after a flight which lasts less than four hours.
Currently, there are several travel routes and services targeting Belt and Road countries, as travel agencies in Shanxi have recently developed and integrated tourism markets and resources in Belt and Road countries. The new air link is expected to help boost tourism between the two cities.
