Shanxi recently added four national demonstration areas of exported agricultural products, according to a list released by the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine on Sept 18.
The four areas include the demonstration area of exported citron daylily in Datong county, the demonstration area of exported fruit in Jiangxian county, the demonstration area of exported vegetables in Quwo county and demonstration area of exported crisp pear in Yanhu district.
With the newly added demonstration areas, there are now 20 similar demonstration areas in Shanxi, ranking fourth in China.
From January to August in 2017, Shanxi's exported farm produce through quality supervision, inspection and quarantine amounted to 346,900 tons with a total value of $ 398 million, representing a year-on-year growth of 52.3 percent and 54.3 percent. A total of 259,000 tons of fresh fruit worth $ 285 million was exported to several countries and regions including Australia, Canada and Russia.
