Shanxi launched a big data platform for energy at the 2018 Coal Trade Conference of China Taiyuan Coal Transaction Center held in Taiyuan on Dec 6.
The big data energy platform collects and integrates information, and settles accounts and logistics data for more than 10,000 dealers, and over 28 million pieces of data from 530 coal related industries during the past eight years.
Built in 2015, the big data energy platform now consists of four parts which release industry updates, prices, and logistics and resource information.
Users can make deals and close accounts on the platform, according to a technician from China Taiyuan Coal Transaction Center.
The platform will next continue to integrate the data of energy production, storage, transportation and consumption, and support macro control, production scheduling and consumption forecasts for the energy industry through data collection and analysis.
Taiyuan Coal Transaction Center is so far the only national-level coal trading market. By the end of November, 12,500 dealers had registered in the center with coal spot transactions amounting to 7.95 billion tons and total transactions reaching 4.19 trillion yuan ($633.48 billion).
