Anze Forest Park in Shanxi province has recently been recognized as a national forest park, being the 22nd national forest park in Shanxi.
Located in southwest Shanxi, Anze Forest Park covers an area of 3,733.4 hectares with forest coverage of 51 percent.
Through some 20 years of development, there have been 139 national, provincial and city-level forest parks in Shanxi, covering 593,200 hectares.
Shanxi will focus next on developing 30 tourist attractions featuring forest parks, nine forest-related health resorts and 46 suburb forest resorts to reach the goal of tourists arriving at forest parks amounting to 25 million by 2020, generating 20 billion yuan ($3.07 billion) in tourism revenue.
