A topping out ceremony for the second phase of an apartment project in Malaysia built by Shanxi Construction Investment Group was held in Johor Bahru, Malaysia, on Jan 22.
The Southern Marina Residences project was constructed in three stages with floorage covering 26 hectares and investment totaling 800 million ringgit ($206.61 million) from PPB Group Berhad and Khazanah.
The project is Shanxi Construction Investment Group’s first general contract project in Malaysia and the largest-contract-amount construction project undertaken by Shanxi provincial State-owned companies in a country that is a member of the Belt and Road Initiative.
Shanxi Construction Investment Group is now discussing further construction partnerships with PPB Group Berhad, a Malaysian investment holding and property investment company.
In the future, the company expects to collaborate with Malaysia in investment, energy, architecture and culture, and expand the market for overseas business.
