Born: Dec 1965, Yingshan, Hubei province. He began work in July 1987 and joined the CPC in June 1993.
Wang, who is a senior economist, began his study at Wuhan University, in Sept 1983, as a Chinese history major.
After graduating, in July 1987, he went to work at the Bohai branch of the China National Offshore Oil Corp as a secretary, and stayed there until Oct 1992, when be became deputy chief of the secretariat.
In June 1993, he became head of the purchasing and cataloguing department, and the journalist department of the China National Offshore Oil Press.
In April 1996, he became the deputy editor-in-chief of the Offshore Oil Press and, in September of that year, became deputy chief of staff of the China National Offshore Oil Corp.
From Aug 1996 to July 1998, he studied business management for graduate students at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.
From Sept 1999 to Nov 2001, he was chief of staff at China National Offshore Oil, and secretary of the Party. He was also chief of staff of the company for two more years, until April 2003.
In April 2003, he became the GM of China National Offshore Oil Corp.
From Nov 2001 to Oct 2003, he took a temporary post as deputy mayor and a member of the municipal standing committee of the city of Luzhou, Sichuan province.
From July 2004 to May 2007, he was deputy secretary general of Hainan province, and a research director.
In May 2007, he became the head of the Hainan state farm bureau, and deputy secretary of the Party.
In Aug 2010, he became chairman of the Hainan State Farm (Group) Co, and secretary of the Party of the group.
In July 2011, he became secretary of the Party at the Hainan state farm bureau.
In Jan 2013, he became vice-governor of Shanxi province.
