A three-day undergraduate international trade and product fair opened in the Business College of Shanxi University on May 4 to train more professionals in event planning and management.
The fair attracted 50 amateur and eight professional teams from several universities and colleges including Shanxi University. The evaluation of exhibitors is based on their performance in product planning, exhibition layout, negotiating with foreign businesses, and product release conferences.
During the event, the eight professional teams promoted their products, which included food, daily commodities, and cosmetics. All products were promoted in English using techniques of drama, singing, and dancing, with judges playing the role of foreign businesspeople.
The fair, which simulated the process of international trade, aimed to improve students’ business abilities. The undergraduate teams had to independently complete the whole process from exhibition planning and booth design to contacting partner companies and purchasing and selling products.
It's the sixth time that the Business College of Shanxi University has held this event and it is hoped students will leave with improved skills in business management, marketing, and communication, while at the same time providing a platform for collaboration between colleges and companies.
