A lacquered screen, unearthed at Sima Jinlong, from the Northern Wei Dynasty, reflects the cultural influences of the Northern and Southern dynasties. A gold ring inlaid with precious stones, discovered at Xu Xianjiu, from the Northern Qi Dynasty, is also anb example of the cultural communication between ancient China and the outside world during the Northern Dynasty.
