Sci-Fi seminar held in Hugo Award winner's hometown

Liu Cixin, a Yangquan-born Hugo Award winning writer, discussed developments in science fiction literature throughout the past 40 years with other writers and experts at a seminar in his hometown on Oct 10.

A writing studio named after him was unveiled, aimed at encouraging science fiction or fantasy creation in Yangquan city and around China as well as boosting local culture.

The science fiction writer won the Hugo Award for Best Novel in 2015 for the first book in his sci-fi series, The Three-Body Problem. He was the first Asian writer to win the award.
