Shanxi launched a winter tourism promotion event for 2018 at the Wanlong International Ski Resort on Baideng Mountain in Datong, Shanxi province, on Nov 25.
Members of various sports associations and clubs performed diabolo playing, tai chi ball game, traditional martial arts, skiing stunts, qigong, a Chinese breathing exercise, and yangko, a popular folk dance, at the launch ceremony.
More than 2,000 sports enthusiasts and children taking part in a reporting activity for Datong Daily skied at the resort, enjoying the high-quality snow and winter air.
Apart from promoting winter sports, the event aimed to help promote Datong as a destination with a full range of tourist activities for visitors and a demonstration city for sports.
